Royal icing cookies
Royal icing cookies are perfect for detailed, custom designs. The icing dries smooth and firm, allowing for intricate patterns, lettering, and artwork. They’re less delicate than buttercream cookies, making them ideal for packaging and gifting.
Buttercream cookies
Buttercream cookies are all about flavor and soft, creamy texture. While they don’t allow for the same level of detail as royal icing, many find the taste superior to royal icing. I use a crusting buttercream, so each cookie can still be individually packaged with care. They’re more delicate than royal icing cookies, but perfect for simple, beautiful designs with a rich, homemade feel.
